Walz appointee with apparent CCP ties could expose potential veep's national security weakness, lawmaker says

With Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz under congressional scrutiny for his connections to Chinese entities, one top lawmaker fumed at allegations he had appointed a Chinese political party member to a state board.11

In 2021, Chang Wang took his seat as vice chair representing Chinese ancestry on the CAPM’s board. His term expires in January. Other ancestries represented on the panel include Tibetan, Polynesian and Bhutanese.11

Wang, however, was or is one of 25 members serving on the Central Civil and Judiciary Committee of China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) [party]," the DCNF reported, citing an archived University of Minnesota biography.11

In China, minor parties like CAPD effectively operate with the express permission of the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP). 11 CAPD Chairman Cai Daifeng has urged CAPD members to rally around the CCP Central Committee and properly advise the ruling party, according to Chinese state media Xinhua.11 When asked about the news in light of his correspondence with the FBI, Comer said it is "deeply concerning." Governor Walz’s documented history and cozy relationship with Chinese entities and officials is … a national security threat," Comer said.11 "Based on information obtained by the House Oversight Committee, the governor’s decision to embrace China with open arms may have allowed the CCP to influence his decision-making as a congressman and governor and potentially would allow the CCP to influence the White House should Vice President Harris be elected."11 The Kentucky lawmaker added that Americans deserve to have the full picture of Walz’s reported ties to the CCP.11

"The committee will continue to push the FBI for all relevant information in its possession." 11 According to his CAPM biography, Chang studied filmmaking at Beijing Film Academy, holds an art history degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign and got his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota. Fox News Digital reached out to Chang via his Kingsfield Law firm but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Comer indicated that the FBI has "failed" to comply with his month-old request for information. "The committee requested information about the CCP-affiliated entities and officials with which Mr. Timothy Walz has engaged, as well as any warnings or information the Federal Bureau of Investigation has provided to Mr. Walz or his office about CCP influence operations. The deadline to produce such documents and information has passed, and the Bureau has failed to provide any response to the Committee," Comer said, calling the bureau’s silence "inexcusable."

11 Walz has reportedly visited China about two dozen times, and Comer noted he organized a 1993 trip to the Communist nation for his students. He had been teaching high school in Box Butte County, Nebraska, at the time. 11 In 2007, Walz was a fellow at Macau Polytechnic University in the autonomous Macau region while he was a member of Congress. "Macau Polytechnic University exists ‘in alignment with China’s Belt and Road Initiative,’ a political warfare program developed by President Xi Jinping to exert China’s influence worldwide," Comer said in a separate statement However, Chang told DCNF that his elderly parents are his only ties to China. The outlet added that his current University of Minnesota bio does not include his Chinese political affiliation as the archived link had.11

Chang’s parents were scientists at a Chinese academy whose work contributed to military products, according to a Pentagon document. "Walz… can’t explain away the pattern," China expert Gordon Chang told Newsmax in a recent interview regarding evidence of ties to Chinese entities 11

 

Sen. Graham predicts 9/11-style attack on US if Biden-Harris policy continues: 'Living on borrowed time

 

Graham made the statement during an appearance on "Fox News Sunday" with host Shannon Bream. He pointed to Iran's escalating belligerence in the Middle East as well as the administration's failure to navigate an end to the war in Ukraine.11

"I've never been more worried about a nuclear breakout by Iran than I am right now. I've never been more worried about another 9/11 against America than I am right now," Graham said. 

"The withdrawal from Afghanistan put every jihadist on steroids. We have a broken border. There are more terrorists in our country than any time I can remember associated with terrorism. So 9/11 – We're just living on borrowed time here at home," he added.

Graham went on to encourage Israel to "do what you need to do" to prevent Iran from breaking out as a nuclear power.11

The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) claims Iran could have a nuclear bomb before the next president's inauguration in January.

The group warned that while most U.S. officials are monitoring Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium to 90%, the regime is taking other, covert steps toward a nuclear weapon, like taking measures toward building a nuclear explosive device that would make quick work of putting a bomb together.11

Graham also condemned the administration's handling of Ukraine, saying the U.S. has been "slow" to deliver missiles and jets to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.11

Biden has no plan to end this war that is effective. I am listening to Zelenskyy. He has a plan coming out in about a week. What we need here is an American president that can get Putin and Zelensky in a room to end this war to make sure we don't have another war," Graham said.

"The entire world is on fire and Harris's fingerprints are all over this," he added.11

Biden met with U.K. Prime Minister Kier Starmer last week to discuss whether the West should allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles against targets within Russia's borders.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says such approval would constitute a declaration of war by NATO, the U.S. and the U.K.11

  A Secret Service agent patrolling the perimeter eventually spotted the gunman and opened fire, chasing him off before anyone was hurt. But local authorities say additional perimeter patrols would be an obvious safety upgrade when Donald Trump comes to town.

  Trump is known to frequent the course when staying at his Mar-a-Lago resort about 15 minutes away. And even though the visit wasn't on the president's schedule, anyone staking out the area could have been tipped off to his arrival by his motorcade.11

  "There have been previous individuals who have taken pictures of the former president while he's golfing," said Dave Aronberg, the state attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit, which covers Palm Beach County. "They've gone through the shrubs and been able to poke a camera through the fencing. You would think that perhaps maybe they would consider someone scoping the perimeter.

  Photographers routinely announce their presence to the Secret Service and are well versed in where they can get a good line of sight, the New York Post reported. They are rarely asked to leave, an unnamed photo agency source told the paper.12

JD Vance cheered by college football fans with wife Usha in North Carolina

 

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance made a trip to Greenville, North Carolina, Saturday with his wife Usha, and they arrived game day ready. 11

The couple landed in the afternoon and visited a popular college football bar, Sup Dogs. 11

They were greeted there by a raucous cheer from the bar's customers.  Vance is a known college football fan but not necessarily of any teams in North Carolina. As an Ohio native and Ohio State University alum, Vance is a lifelong Buckeyes fan.

Vance previously revealed he had told Trump his loyalty to the Buckeyes could impact the former president's chances in Michigan in November when Trump selected Vance as his running mate.11

"When he first asked me to be a VP, I was like, 'Well, you know, hopefully we don't lose Michigan by like 900 votes, because you're going to regret it. 'Cause it's probably just a thousand p---ed-off Wolverine fans who wouldn't vote for a Buckeye. 11

"But I think that most Michiganders are going to be able to put sports rivalries aside and put the country first, which is what, of course, all of us believe is the most important thing," Vance said during an appearance on OutKick's "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show." 11

ABC host presses Kamala Harris ally on VP's false claim about active US troops: 'Why would she say that?'

ABC News' Martha Raddatz pressed Gov. Maura Healey, D-Mass., on a false claim Vice President Kamala Harris made during the ABC debate on Tuesday, and asked bluntly, "why would she say that?"1111

"There is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world, the first time this century," Harris claimed during the debate.1111

ABC News' David Muir and Linsey Davis hosted the first presidential debate between Harris and Donald Trump on Tuesday. Davis and Muir fact-checked Donald Trump multiple times during the debate but failed to fact-check Harris at all.1111

"Our fact-checkers found that to be false," Raddatz said during the interview on Sunday. "There are currently 900 U.S. military personnel in Syria, 2,500 U.S. troops in Iraq. All have been under regular threat from drones and missiles for months. We also have action in the Red Sea. Also, every single day, the Navy SEALs, Delta Forces special operators can be part of any sort of deadly raid." 1111

 "I think what’s important here, Martha, is that Kamala Harris, in contrast to Donald Trump, demonstrated herself to be commander in chief. We are in a world where there are all sorts of conflicts, and it’s all the more reason we need somebody who’s serious and who supports the military," Healey responded. 1111

Raddatz jumped in again and repeated what Harris had said.

"You say she demonstrated her ability to be commander in chief, but did she not know about these people in Syria and Iraq? Why would she say that?" Raddatz said. 

Healey argued that Donald Trump "stands with Vladimir Putin." 1111

"I think that’s what’s really important. Kamala Harris, she respects our military, she respects our service members. Donald Trump calls them suckers and losers," Healey said. 

Healey was also asked if Harris should draw a clear line on what restrictions she would support on abortion.1111

"She already did, Martha," Healey said. "What she said is, ‘let’s go back to Roe.’"
